Title: The View from Where We Used to Be
Born and raised in Toyota, Japan, where everything revolves around the world-famous Toyota’s headquarters, KazuTabu studied to be a mechanical engineer, but decided to moved to the U.S. at the age of 19 to study art. After graduating with Art degree and worked as an storyboard artist for about 10 years in LA, he moved back to Japan, longing to rediscover his root in his homeland. By illustrating the bottomless abyss of our dreams and realities, he explores the relationship we and our man-made world have with nature and the universe – physically and spiritually. His artworks often reflect such devastating natural disasters as earthquakes and tsunamis as well as grief and joy in the mundane.
