Devin Anderson

Meet Devin Anderson, one of our managers here at the brewery store:

What do you find most enjoyable about working in the brewing industry?

Being in the brewing industry is amazing because not only do I feel like I have a second family with Collective Arts, you feel such a mutual connection and appreciation between other craft breweries. Also, no one is ever in a bad mood when they come in to buy their favourite craft beer. Without a doubt I can say I have never had a negative customer in the (almost) year I have been here.

What’s your favourite beer that your brewery does not produce?

I love browsing the craft beer section and always look forward to trying something new. This summer I fell in love with a brewery while I was visiting up north, Lake of the Woods and their “Forgotten Lake Blueberry Ale”

People would be surprised to know:

That I do all my own stunts. Kidding. But, I think I am close to being considered an animal hoarder. I have the best dog ever and two lovely, fat cats. If I could, my fur family would continue to grow but my boyfriend somewhat disagrees.

What do you do when you’re not working?

When I’m not here, you can find me getting my flat-white fix at Mulberry, trying a new Hamilton restaurant, and/or getting lost with my dog on all the trails Hamilton has to offer.

Favourite Collective arts’ artist or musician?

Favourite musician from our labels right now is Whitney. Favourite art piece at the moment is from our new series 7, Mr. Jackalope by Allen Douglas.

What do you enjoy about working with CAB?

I frequently get “this must be the best job ever” said to me while I am working in our retail space or events. And it is. Not only is the beer amazing, but the people I work with are even better. We are truly a family (maybe a slightly dysfunctional family) that supports each other and only wants to see each other grow. I have been given the opportunity to work on a variety of events and tasks that let me explore so many avenues of the brewing world. I have been thrown out of my shell multiple times and through that I have learnt more about myself and felt more supported than ever.

Number 1 thing on your bucket list:

I have always wanted to go to Australia. I know that’s not the craziest bucket list item, but as a kid I loved watching Steve Irwin (did I mention I love animals yet?) and visiting Australia just kind of stuck with me. I have lived a very sheltered life and have never been to the ocean and I also would like to go hot air ballooning. But not hot air ballooning over the ocean to Australia.

The Collective Arts’ beer that best describes you and why?

I think the best beer to describe me would be the Saint of Circumstance. I might seem like a regular blonde ale but then I hit you with a citrusy zing you don’t expect.
