A four-piece pop punk band from Cork, Ireland, Series Fours Hags are full of brash and short bursts of controlled noise – i.e. a helluva good time.

Formed out of the remnants of rock band When Good Pets Go Bad, Hags retain the loud, often frenetic elements of typical pop-punk, but combine it with a teenager-like innocence reminiscent of the 1994 hayday era of punk. ‘Leave’ is their debut single, which you should absolutely listen with your speakers turned way up. It was recorded and mixed by Chris Somers at OneChanceOut Studios in Cork and mastered by Ruairi O’Flaherty at Whisper & Shout, Los Angeles. Available for free download on Bandcamp and Soundcloud, play it at any party and watch people NOT stay in their seats as they catch the infectious tunes. ‘Leave’ will be followed by a new single ‘On Return’, set to be released early April.

Hags have been busy for a young group: they’ve been touring Ireland extensively over the last six months, taking in dates at Hard Working Class Heroes festival, an opening slot on The FMC Tour 2014 in Limerick, supporting fellow Cork band We Cut Corners at Cyprus Avenue music venue, and playing MTV Crashes Cork Music Trail back in November and Whelan’s Ones to Watch 2015 Festival in January, to name just a few. And they’re not stopping: further national tours are scheduled for March 2015 and beyond. Should you be so lucky to be in Ireland, catching these guys is a MUST.
