BFFs since high school, Poor Young Things are a group of five musicians who deliver a unified rock n’ roll sound that only comes from playing (and living!) together for years.

Originally hailing from Thunder Bay, these now-Toronto rockers have produced a sound that’s one part energy and two parts instrumental talent (and all raw). Honest and organic, their recently released anthem-driven album, The Heart. The Head. The End. took their fans by storm when it was released on May 21, 2013 and continues to impress with their strike-you-right-in-the-heart fast tunes. Under the same label that brought you The Trews, Bumstead Productions and reuniting with producer, Jon Drew (you may recognize him from working with The Arkells), their latest album is guitar-laden and meant to be heard live. Recognizing their dynamic presence cannot be contained, Poor Young Things are about to embark on a tour across Ontario in November 2013. How are they gearing up? Read on below:

You’ve been playing together for three+ years – how has your sound matured/changed since the early days?

Being on the road as much as we are, the screws are definitely tighter. I think at this point we’re very comfortable in our own skin and we’re willing to take a few more chances, musically. That being said, it’s been rock n’ roll since day one.

Your shows are known to pack a punch. What can your fans expect with this upcoming tour?

We’re just starting to hit our stride, so they can expect even more energy. Also more crowd interaction; they get to be part of the show! Maybe tighter pants too? More denim? It’s going to be a lot of fun.

Haha, we’ll watch out for that. Collective Art Brewing has a pretty unique concept of pairing artists with craft brews; how did you feel the first time you say your label on a beer bottle (How many people can say they’ve crossed that one off their bucket list)?

Thirsty…and proud. We’re very glad to have been included. It’s every Thunder Bay boys dream to have his own beer one day!
