Get excited. We have once again opened our call for art and music to all artists, musicians, filmmakers and photographers the world over; this time for our Series Five labels, set to coincide with the opening of our brand new brewing facility in Hamilton, Ontario, Arts & Science Brewing.

That’s right – our brewery is slated to open May, 2015 (!!), and what better way to celebrate than with new labels and artists to expose our beer drinkers to, adding a whole new level of awesome to their Collective Arts experience.

Since our official launch in September 2013, we’ve grown both in size and quality of art on our labels. In addition to the exciting endeavour of bringing brewing back to Hamilton, we’ve added three new beers to join our flagship Rhyme & Reason XPA and Saint of Circumstance Blonde Ale in our growing collection:

– State of Mind, Session IPA – our hop-forward but amazingly light-bodied session ale

– Ransack The Universe, Hemisphere IPA – A hemispheric hop mashup with Galaxy hops from Myrtleford, Victoria in Australia and Mosaic hops from Yakima, Washington, USA.

– Stranger Than Fiction, Porter – A full-bodied stout with plenty of roast flavour and hints of molasses and chocolate

We’ve also worked with over 330 exceptionally talented artists and musicians from all over the globe. These include heavy hitters like of Montreal, Operators, July Talk, Laurel, METZ, PUP, The Strumbellas, Tyler Armstrong, Fred Caron and Jackie Besteman. Our last call for art had our biggest turnout yet – over 2,200 submissions from 38 countries poured through. We’re seriously blown away each time. And ready to see more.

If you’re an artist, musician, band member, filmmaker, photographer, and/or a creative individual who likes making stuff, we invite YOU to submit your work and help make drinking our beer that much more enjoyable through the discovery of your talents for Series Five. Our mandate has and always will be to support and help expose emerging artists like you. Not only does your work live on our beer labels that get distributed to bars and restaurants across Ontario, as well as LCBO and The Beer Store locations, our beer drinkers can also download the free Blippar app for their Smartphones, scan your label and immediately get access to links to your bio, website, music and more. Plus, it’s a pretty awesome feeling seeing it all come to life, as our past artists can attest to.

Submitting is done online and you don’t need to create any new work. As long as you are of legal drinking age in your country of residence and submit your own original artwork, you’re eligible! SUBMIT HERE

Our Call For Art is open NOW until May 1st. We will have a panel of experts help curate Series Five, which will be announced at a later date.

ART + BREWING – share your work in the world’s most sociable gallery!

  1. Great idea! You know what would be even better? PAY THE ARTISTS!
Seriously! Promotion is lovely – but artists cannot survive on promotion alone.

    • Hi Catherine – thanks for your comment. We do not ask the artists to create anything new. You are qualified if you submit existing work of yours. All selected artists receive a commemorative bottle and a stipend of $200 CAD as compensation for using their work on our labels (this year, we will pay over $75,000 to compensate and support all of our artists who have been selected). Learn more here:

  2. Hello,
We were just wondering when the winners will be announced.

    • Thanks, Kate. We are just beginning the curator process with our panel of judges. This is a month long process. We will announce our final Series Five artists/labels end of August/early September once all the approvals have been made.
