There Is Art on My Beer!

By: Nolan Pelland

Founded in in September 2013 by Matt Johnston and Bob Russell, Collective Arts brewing brings together creativity and tasty craft beer. Four times each year Collective arts opens up to artist’s submissions for a chance to be featured on the outside of their bottles. Not only do these feature art as unique as the craft beer itself, but the works of art awaken when scanned with the free Blippar mobile app.

Interestingly enough, the app does not work on QR codes but the image itself. When scanned, the story behind the label and its origins are revealed. The images don’t only incorporate visual art but also art from musicians and filmmakers around the world.

Working symbiotically, the beer is crafted from the inspiration of Collective Arts brewmaster Ryan Morrow. Partnering with various brewers Collective Arts lovingly refer to themselves as the “gypsy” brewer. This allows Ryan to spread his wings and create new “works of beer” that push the boundaries of what is considered to be conventional beer.

Collective Arts is proud to showcase their fourth series of labels featuring 80 extraordinary artists. These brews can be found on shelves in March for a list of available locations click here.
