Trevor Yardley-Jones

Featured Artist

Montreal-based Illustrator & Designer, Trevor likes to draw all kinds of faces and characters. He is still experimenting with techniques and styles to find his place in the art-world.

What stands out for you as one of your favourite career highlights so far?
One of my career highlights would be landing a graphic design job at Autodesk. It’s a great place to work that challenges me and allows me to grow.

What are you currently working on?
Other than working full-time at Autodesk and contract-work, I’m always sketching and doodling faces, drawing on skateboards and making stamps.

How’d you get started as an artist?
I’ve been doing art since I was little. I always liked drawing and reading cartoons and comics. I was never really interested in anything else.

Who or what influences your art?
My really cool artistic family members that have always influenced me. From a very early age I learned that you can support yourself and others through art.

What is your creative process like?
I can’t really say I have much of a “process”. I usually doodle without thinking and sometimes something works…sometimes it doesn’t. When I get a specific idea, I will usually make about a million thumbnails.

How do you feel our Art + Brewing initiative can benefit emerging artists?
I think it’s an awesome way to get young artists out there and a great way to show that art is a super-essential component in the creation and marketing of just about everything.
