Beer or Cider? It’s such a hard choice. Now, no matter which you choose to drink, Collective Arts has options for you. Yes, we now make craft cider, TWO ciders actually.
Why cider? Jeff Tkachuk, a partner of Collective Arts Brewing states, “we are excited to add these two craft ciders to our portfolio. This has been part of our plan since day one at Collective Arts. Both Local Press and Apple & Cherry are made with pure juice and fermented semi-dry resulting in highly approachable and refreshing ciders. They are of course also gluten-free and vegan friendly.”
Matt Howell, Collective Arts cider maker describes the process as “the ability to use traditional methods with local, on hand ingredients to produce a bright, complex, fruity beverage is what I love about making cider”
Collective Arts Craft Ciders
Local Press Apple Cider [5.6% ABV]
Made from 100% locally sourced, Ontario grown Northern Spy, IDA Red, and Spartan apples fermented with a French cider yeast resulting in a dry, pleasant base liquid. A small portion of fresh juice is then blended back to balance the acid impart a fresh fruit nose. This naturally gluten-free cider is an off-dry, crisp, clean and refreshing cider. Montreal artist Simon Mallette St-Pierre created Splatter Rabbit for Series Three. We thought his work would look amazing on a cider can. descendo.com
Apple & Cherry Cider [5.0% ABV]
We start with Local Press cider and blend in fresh Montmorency cherry juice from the Niagara escarpment. The final product is bright and colourful with a tart fruity pallet and a rich sharp nose. Like a sweet cherry pie without the buttery crust, this cider is a sweet indulgence in a glass. Apple&Cherry features the art of Series Two art its Amanda Burk.
