My creative process is a none-or-all approach. I sometimes turn over a concept in my head for weeks or months, re-composing it and editing out elements for more meaningful ones until I finally sketch it out. Other times, I just sit and sketch for hours until I create something I like.
So many types of things influence my drawings and paintings, from funky ceramic glazes to beer labels fiber art to tattoo art to fashion. Some of my favorite makers currently are Ann Tilley, a quirky fiber artist in NC, Omnipollo, a Scandinavian brewery with killer packaging design, and Kaley Flowers, an eclectic sculptor from Toronto. Their color palettes and textures have made a big impact on my current work.
