Erek Jones is an illustrator and screen print artist based in Richmond, Virginia. After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Communication Arts program in 2010, he started Stachesquatch Design.

He works mainly with graphite and gouache, which is then translated to screen print for paper, fabric, and glass. Stachesquatch’s footprint extends throughout galleries and murals in the Richmond area.

Who or what influences your art?

Music and puns are two of my biggest influences. I think the use of language and how we interpret it leaves a lot of room for play. My first reaction when I hear a really good pun or lyric is how to visualize it.

What are you currently working on?

I'm working on a vinegar label for a friend which involves some gnarly wizard hands. I'm also brainstorming an interactive mural for a music festival.
