Accounts Payable Clerk, Full-time, Hamilton ON

As the Collective Arts Brewing Accounts Payable Clerk you will report directly to the Accounts Payable and Receivable Supervisor and will provide a range of support services directly to the Controller and the VP of Finance.
A typical day as an Accounts Payable Clerk includes:
  • Responsible for processing and paying A/P invoices in an accurate and timely manner
  • Obtain approvals and match A/P invoices in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Process cheques, automatic withdrawals, and wire payments in accounting system
  • Maintain accurate vendor accounts, and reconcile any discrepancies as necessary
  • Monitor A/P aging and maintain vendor payment schedule
  • Review and investigate open Goods Receipts and Purchase Orders
  • Answer payment inquiries from vendors
  • Process employee expenses and credit card transactions
  • Process intercompany transactions
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close process
  • Maintaining and enforcing purchasing policy
  • Special projects, as required
As we continue to grow and continue to launch areas of the business we need someone who has sound judgment and has the ability to think on their feet and act quickly.
We’re looking for candidates who have/are:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related finance role
  • Post-secondary degree (business, finance, mathematics, or something related)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with a strong focus in Excel
  • Strong understanding of the A/P process
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Prior experience with SAP is an asset
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is a significant asset
  • Ability to develop and implement procedures with respect to A/P process
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Extremely detail oriented, organized and a problem solver
  • Strong data entry skills and good mathematical aptitude
  • Enthusiastic, team orientated, and a quick learner
