Communications Intern, Full-time, Hamilton ON – SUMMER

The key function of this role is to support all areas of Communications including initiatives related to: Public Relations, Content Creation, Social Media, CRM and Email Marketing.
This is a 4-month internship starting in May.
A typical day as a Communications Intern includes:
  • CRM/Email Marketing – Data entry, organization of customer lists
  • Media Kits – organizing, packing and compiling press and influencer shipments. Distribution and communication with all stakeholders, creating and updating media lists
  • Website – ensuring sliders, web banners and event listings are up to date and accurate. Updating artist content.
  • Content – writing blog posts for our website, working with our artist community to obtain UGC.
  • Social media – maintenance of beer and review based social platforms (Beer Advocate, Untapped, Yelp)
We’re looking for candidates who have/are:
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations preferred
  • Social media interest; knowledge of multiple online platforms and emerging digital/social interfaces
  • Highly developed editing, copywriting skills, and/or creative writing skills
  • Working Knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp and Hootsuite an asset
  • Business sense, strategic thinking and practical sense
  • Creative outlook, passion and enthusiasm for marketing communications
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and organization skills with the ability to meet
  • deadlines
  • Self-motivated personality that embraces change, challenge and organization;
  • A team player
  • Demonstrate strong team mentality and ability to work well with others
