Iskra Print Collective Collaboration
The Iskra X Collective Arts Collaboration represents the first time we’ve worked with a full team of professional designers. Each of the eight participating team members are gainfully employed designers by day, and passionate print makers at the Iskra Print Collective studio at night. And as designers do, the team brainstormed up self prescribed art direction and created our most cohesive series to date.
In addition to brilliant label art and design, Iskra also represents the first time a can series will be juxtaposed directly to large format screen print originals. It’s been exciting to watch the two channels develop in tandem.
Last week we had an opportunity to drop by the print studio and watch two of the printer-designers, Dylan Fant and Mikey Lavi, run a number of prints that will be for sale at our brewery, online shop, and they’ll be featured on our Life in the Clouds and Jam Up the Mash cans for a limited time.
During Art Hop on September 7th Iskra will unveil the pieces created for this series at Karma Birdhouse in Burlington, VT. The screen prints will be for sale at Iskra Print Shop following the gallery opening.
ISKRA PRINT COLLECTIVE
The Russian word “iskra” translates as “the vital spark,” symbolizing the inner spiritual spark that ignites change. The studio collaborates with artists on small to large-scale printing projects and engages the broader creative community by hosting open-house exhibitions and educational and informative workshops. Iskra believes in the power of print to communicate, influence, and inspire.
Michael Jager, Chief Creative Officer of Solidarity of Unbridled Labour, had always wanted to establish a space for the designers to experiment with the art of screen-printing. With the help of the legendary Master Printer Leo Listi, they worked together to create an educational screen-printing studio as an extension of the former JDK Galler
