At Collective Arts we love all things brewed. Coffee not only fuels us through the day, but it has inspired our beer innovation over the years. We’re excited to introduce you to our first frontier into this world. We’ve collaborated with Detour Coffee Roasters from Hamilton, ON and artists from this coffee’s origin countries to create another version of #artplusbrewing.
Collective Blend Coffee is now available through our online store – shipping Ontario wide!
Collective Blend No.1 is a medium roast made up of coffees from two of our favourite growing regions in Colombia and Costa Rica. The resulting cup features sugar browning aromatics that lead to a creamy texture and smooth notes of caramel and dried fruit. This easy-going coffee is an approachable blend that is great morning, noon and night. Watch for new art labels as we feature artists residing in the best coffee regions around the globe.
Gaby Selby is a freelance illustrator and lecturer from Medellín, Colombia. He enjoys meeting and drawing strange and peculiar people, and has a fascination for crowds. He creates energetic work full of fun and humour, often depicting both the absurd and the sweetness of human relationships.
Detour was born in 2009 in a back alleyway in Dundas, Ontario. One of Canada’s earliest specialty coffee roasters, the brand was built on the idea that coffee should be more than just mindless morning fuel. Detour founder, Kaelin McCowan, believed that if he sourced and secured the highest quality green coffees in the world, and roasted fresh to order, people would fall in love with what’s in the cup. Nearly a decade later their mission remains unchanged. They continue to strive to elevate coffee and act as industry leaders through ongoing experimentation and development.
Specialty coffee has come a long way since Detour’s early days. Today the latest coffee trends pop up at an unfathomable pace. They are huge believers in ongoing innovation. But not just for the sake of chasing the latest fad. To Detour, true leadership means charting their own path and staying true to the product and processes they believe in.
