COLLECTIVE ARTS ANNOUNCES EXPANSION INTO DISTILLING, LAUNCHING TWO GINS THIS SPRING
Both silver medal winners at the San Fransisco World Spirits Competition
April 17, 2019 – Hamilton, Ont – Collective Arts Brewing announced today that they will be adding distilled products to their current beer and cider portfolio. Collective Arts Distilling will launch with their flagship Artisanal Dry Gin, and a seasonal Rhubarb and Hibiscus Gin. Both gins will be available in the LCBO on May 1, followed by the rest of Collective Artsâ Canadian markets, Chicago, New York and Connecticut later in the year. Both Artisanal, and Rhubarb and Hibiscus won silver medals at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
âDistilling has been part of our dream from the very beginning. Weâve focused on gins because they are a kindred spirit to craft beer; they are all about the creativity and the quality of the ingredients,â explains Matt Johnston, co-founder of Collective Arts. âLike craft beer, we can play and produce limited releases to push the limits of what gin can, and should be. There are so many ingredients we are excited to work with and there is no shortage of inspiration.â
Collective Arts Distilling will mirror the brewery’s mission to work with and promote artists, featuring art on the bottle, changing with every seasonal product, and with every small batch of the flagship. âThe wonderful thing about gin is that we can amplify our mantra of âcreativity fuels creativityâ, recognizing artists and creating a product that acts as the paintbrush for a mixologist or drinker to make their own cocktails,â explains Johnston. Each gin bottle will be its own work of art, with labels peeling off to reveal an original piece of art.
Gin is just the beginning for Collective Arts Distilling, as they look to produce barrel-aged products in the future.
Artisanal DryÂ
Our Artisanal Dry Gin was crafted in small batches with juniper berries and our unique, house-made botanical blend. Fresh lemon, lime and orange peel make our gin bright and refreshing, while our spice blend adds complexity and depth. Best drank neat or on the rocks.Â
Rhubarb and Hibiscus
Part of our seasonal, one-off gin series, this gin was made with copious amounts of Rhubarb and Hibiscus. Like the first bite of a grapefruit, it’s juicy and floral complimented by fresh citrus and our botanical blend that leaves it with a tart and warm ginger finish.Â
