Jieun June Kim is a Toronto-based, Korean-born painter and muralist. She has exhibited her paintings around the world since 2010 at notable galleries and events. Since she moved to Canada, she has painted numerous murals, exploring the idea of “home” as an immigrant and creating safe space. Jieun is the co-founder of KJ Bit Collective who create murals and street art events such as “Laneway Light Up” project (2018). She is also the recipient of the Newcomer and Refugee Artist Mentorship grant from the Toronto Arts Council (2018). Jieun is featured on our Series 13 cans, has worked with us on live-art activations and will be working with us on an upcoming merch collaboration.
The featured exhibition was part of the Northbound Gallery Program with North York Arts.
